There used to be free parking at the nearby FDR Park and Golf Club on Pattison Avenue west of the ballpark, but no longer. The Park charges a flat rate that applies all day on game day unless you're a member of the club. Still, it’s not too far, and you’ll have a much easier time getting out than the folks in the Bank’s lots. Across the street from the FDR Club on Pattison is the NovaCare complex. Just west of the complex is a large parking lot with ample space for fans. Parking here is the same cost as at the Park and it's about a quarter mile walk, but this is a very easy and quick in and out. Leaving this lot, make a right away from the Park instead of toward it on Pattison Avenue, stay in the right lane a few blocks and then make a hard right onto Penrose Avenue, and you'll be able to get on I-76 and subsequently I-95 that way. You'll sail out of there in a hurry, unlike the suckers who sit...and sit...and sit...in the Bank's parking lots. Remember, the Phillies sell out a lot of games. This is where the Phillies employees park (in fact I learned about it from a friendly usher named Marty), so you know it's got something. For more from Kurt, visit his website. 1 Comment |
