Fallout from my Nelly comment

I can't believe this, but I have received a couple of negative emails from my comment about Nelly on the St. Louis page.

Names have been changed to protect the innocent. Here is the story:

So I got this email from a guy who filled out my contact form. Apparently he was a little offended with the following comment on my St. Louis Cardinals page:

"Downtown St. Louis can provide some parking problems, and when going to Busch Stadium you should keep safety in mind. As in any urban area, St. Louis has some rough spots where Nelly and his good buddies hang out."

Pretty funny, right? Well not to this guy. See his comments below and then my reply email:

First Name: John Q
Last Name: Public
Comments: You lost all credibility with your comments about Nelly. What violent crimes has he been involved in. Keep your ignorance to yourself, especially if you plan on writing a professional blog like this. I stopped reading before I even finished that sentence.

My Response:

"Hello John Q,
Thanks for reading.
I wouldn't consider the blog professional, although I hope it provides useful information. I make many comments like this throughout the site, but I trust that many recognize the fact that they are sarcastic in nature. I regret that you weren't able to make that connection and finish the sentence.

I will admit that I am somewhat ignorant of Nelly's personal life, so I have to go on what he tells me. I do recall him passing this tidbit along about the area he frequents:

"Mmmmm you can find me in St. Louie
Where the gun play ring all day (nanana)
Some got jobs and some sell yay'
Others just smoke and f*** all day"

If that is where I can find Nelly, near the ringing of gunshots and the selling of illegal substances, then count me out on parking there for a Cardinal game. You know what I mean?
Thanks,
Jake"

In case I didn't mention it, it was intended to be a lighthearted joke. I would like to think that most of my readers get that, and think it's a little funny. I could be wrong, but if you ask me my opinion, I would recommend not parking in a high crime area if possible, at any ballpark. In this case, I am assuming gun shots whizzing past your head and the sale of drugs nearby is probably a high crime area. Call me crazy.
