I’m going to be that guy again. I heard of Mike Mussina well before he reached the Majors. It was the late 1980s, and I worked as a counselor at a Little League Baseball Camp—a satellite camp of the main one in Williamsport, mostly for tweens. It was in Hillsgrove, PA, and to say it was in the middle of nowhere would be an understatement. One of the head counselors managed the Mansfield High School team and spoke highly of Mussina, who pitched for rival Montoursville. I kept that name in the back of my mind until I saw he’d made the Majors in ’91. Decades later, he’s in the Hall of Fame. Here are 12 reasons why he’s got a plaque in Cooperstown:
