New Jersey isn’t home to a Major League Baseball team, but its unique location in close proximity to New York and Philadelphia puts Jersey natives in a perfect location to support teams from either city.
However, you don’t have to leave the state to enjoy an exciting baseball game in an incredible stadium. New Jersey sports a variety of baseball fields that range from historic to state-of-the-art. You can even find a museum dedicated to the famed catcher Yogi Berra onsite at one of these parks.
We’ll also pay tribute to a couple of New Jersey’s now-demolished stadiums- gone, but not forgotten!

Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium
Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium was a baseball park located in Newark, New Jersey. It was built in 1999 and had a seating capacity of 6,200. The stadium was the home of the Newark Bears, a minor league baseball team that played in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. The team called the stadium home from 1999 until 2013, when they announced a move to the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball. Unfortunately, the team was folded shortly thereafter.
The stadium was known for its unique location on the riverfront, offering stunning views of the water and the city skyline. It was a popular destination for baseball fans and was considered one of the best minor league stadiums in the country. Despite its popularity, the stadium was eventually replaced by a newer, more modern facility, but it remains a beloved part of Newark’s sports history.
Campbell’s Field
Campbell’s Field was a 6,425-seat baseball park located in Camden, New Jersey. It was home to the Rutgers–Camden college baseball team and the Camden Riversharks of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball until 2015. The stadium was named after the Camden-based Campbell Soup Company, which paid $3 million over ten years for the naming rights. The stadium hosted its first regular season baseball game on May 11, 2001 and was a popular destination for baseball fans in the area. Unfortunately, the stadium was demolished in mid-December 2018, but it will always be remembered as a beloved part of Camden’s history.
FirstEnergy Park
FirstEnergy Park, located in Lakewood, New Jersey, is a stadium that is primarily used for baseball games. It is the home field of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, a South Atlantic League baseball team affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies Major League Baseball team. The stadium was built in 2001 and has a seating capacity of 6,588 fixed seats, with additional space on grass berms and picnic tables around the 360-degree concourse.
In addition to hosting baseball games, FirstEnergy Park is also used for outdoor concerts, featuring touring musical artists such as Bob Dylan. TD Bank Ballpark
TD Bank Ballpark is a 6,100-seat baseball stadium located in Bridgewater, New Jersey. It is the home of the Somerset Patriots, a Double-A level Minor League Baseball team in the Eastern League. The stadium hosts 70 Patriots games each year, as well as playoff games and other high school and corporate events. The stadium is named after TD Bank, N.A., which purchased Commerce Bancorp in 2009. The original naming rights were sold to the institution in July 2000, and the stadium was originally known as Somerset Ballpark.

Yogi Berra Stadium
Yogi Berra Stadium is a beautiful baseball stadium located in Little Falls, New Jersey on the campus of Montclair State University. Bader Field
Bader Field was a baseball stadium located in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States. It was named after the former mayor of Atlantic City, Edward L. Bader, who purchased the land for the airfield. The stadium was located at the Bader Field airport and was referred to by the same name as the airfield.
In 1944, the New York Yankees held their spring training at Bader Field. The Philadelphia Athletics also considered using the ballpark for their spring training, but eventually went to McCurdy Field in Frederick, Maryland. The Yankees made the 300-room Senator Hotel their headquarters and practiced indoors at the Atlantic City Armory. They played their first exhibition game in Atlantic City on April 1, 1944, and beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1. The following day, 4,000 fans saw the Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4–3. In 1945, the Boston Red Sox based their spring training at Ansley Park in nearby Pleasantville. The last spring exhibition played at Bader Field was a Red Sox-Yankees game on April 8, 1945.

Bill Clarke Field
Bill Clarke Field is a historic baseball stadium located in Princeton, New Jersey. Hinchliffe Stadium
Hinchliffe Stadium is a historic venue located in Paterson, New Jersey. With a seating capacity of 10,000, the stadium was completed in 1932 and is situated on a dramatic escarpment above the city’s National Historic Landmark Great Falls. The stadium is surrounded by the city’s national landmark historic district, which is the first planned industrial settlement in the nation.
Hinchliffe Stadium is known for its rich history and cultural significance. It was originally built for auto racing, but is better remembered as a race track. Sonny Pittaro Field
Sonny Pittaro Field in Lawrenceville, New Jersey is the home of the Rider University Broncs baseball team. It was named after the team’s former coach, Sonny Pittaro, who led the team to many conference titles and NCAA tournament appearances. The field has a seating capacity of 2,000 and features stadium seating, a press box, and an irrigation system to maintain the playing surface.
The facility has been upgraded over the years, including the addition of a new scoreboard in 2015. Skylands Stadium

Trenton Thunder Ballpark
Trenton Thunder Ballpark is a baseball stadium located in Trenton, New Jersey.
